That's pretty much why I bow hunt solo. No one to contend with...no one to share spots with..nothing. Now if I had a lot of good land, I wouldn't mind it. But until I "pass" a golden horseshoe and some prime land comes my way.....hunting alone is what I'll be doing.

Well I wouldn't worry too much about the cigs because I know 2 guys that smoke while they hunt and shoot deer every year.
But as far as hunting in your stand after you told them about it...that would piss me off

In the place I hunt, I have literally seen deer spook like hell when they catch wind of cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoke most definitely negatively effects deer and their travel.
