Funny thing yesterday
Went to the woods yesterday afternoon just to see if anything was
moving. Went the day before and nothing! Weather way to warm
here in central Arkansas and extremely windy. So I get out to a spot
where I have been seeing movement in the past. I decided to take a
lawn chair and just sit awhile. Parked the chair up next to a big old cedar as my backdrop. I sit for about an hour and heard some rustling across the pipeline area in the woods. I am thinking probably a squirrel but I keep an eye peeled just in case. 30 minutes pass and I hear movement again.
This nice doe pops her head out not 20 feet in front of me. I sit real still
hoping not to spook her. She comes on out and wanders around a bit and
then looks me dead in the eye. She looks away and then walks towards me. She gets within 8 feet of me and I am thinking she wants to come and sit a spell with me. I am trying to keep from cracking up and still hoping she doesn't wind me, (how she didn't I don't know). I had ran a drag rag with some Code Blue on it and hung the rag up on a limb about 15 yards away. She picks up the scent and starts to mosey on over to the scent thank goodness. She gets closer and puts her nose in the air sniffing away. She gets within a couple of feet of the rag and then blows snot all over it!! I started laughing so hard I about fell out of the chair. She wandered on off up the hill and I was sitting there wondering how in the world she got so close and never spooked. All of a sudden I hear this crashing sound right behind meand I about pissed myself! I turned slowly and 2 armadillos are getting after it. What a comical day. I had to get up
and leave. I was useless after that. If I only had a camcorder with me.
How does this goofy stuff happens when I don't "try hard"? LOL
