UP rut
I've got a cabin and 50 acres of woods way up north in the UP of Michigan, close to the Houghton/Hancock area. I'm going up there this weekend and was wondering how are things looking up there? Are the bucks chasin the does? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Same for me in Iron County. Small bucks are on the move and have seen a few scrapes, but the big boys seem to be pretty laid back yet. Got some cam pics of a nice 9 that is pretty necked up so it should be really good for the opener.

I got up here today and came back from hunting. Looks like the rut is just starting here. I saw some nice rubs and a scrape on my property, However all Isaw today was like you guys said, a little guy chasing a doe. Maybe tomorrow.

RE: UP rut
I watched a huge 8 pnt mount a doe yesterday, 11/11/05 on Presque Isle in Marquette. I have it on video and will try to put it on here. I have to have a buddy digitize it first. So, I would have to say the rut is in full swing up here. I was hunting between Ishpeming and Gwinn last week and they were chasing last week.
