My cousin killed his first deer with a bow yesterday morning. He told me he was leaving his ground blind around 9am and walked into the woods and saw a huge buck, he froze until it moved away it was out of range. He then was walking on a creek bed and saw a doe about 50 yds eating leaves from a tree, he froze for about 10 minutes until it turned away and he stalked to 40yds and it turned broadside. He said he drew and aimed about 2 inches above it's back and released. The arrow passed through and hit one lung and the heart it went about 50yds and went down. The doe turned out to be a button buck that weighed 50lbs field dressed. He was using 4 blade muzzy's on a easton 2213. He just bought his bow 2 months ago and had never shot one before this.

I'll tell him, but he didn't seem to exicted about when I talked to him last evening. I was surprised at his demeaner, he was just outside smoking a cigarette and hollering at his dog while I was trying to squeeze the story from him. I don't know why, but I would still be pumped. It seemed like it wasn't that big of a deal to him.

He's not a low keyed person, It makes me think the same thing cardeer. You see he's hunting on land where he rides his 4 wheeler and shoots guns all year and the deer are used to seeing him and he can get real close to them while riding. That's why I think it wasn't a big deal to him to kill one yesterday. It's kind of sad, harvest a deer with a bow for the first time and just say yeah, i got one and light up a cig and watch tv. It Doesn't give a lot of respect to the deer, I think.
