He asked politely for advice and not to be ragged on. Do you all honestly believe you are telling him or us anything we don't already know by telling him how bad his actions were? He knows that already, that is why he wanted only advice. I guess your mothers should have taught you all the old saying, "if you can't say something nice.............."

I am sure you all have made mistakes, hell I have. If you say you haven't you are lying. I am sure his friends are going to give him enough hell over it. He wanted advice. Not crap from a bunch of self absorbed, self serving, omniscient *******s. You guys are perfect. We know that already.

Oh yea and Atlas is a jackazz!

I'll give this thread another half hour before it'll get locked up, maybe not even that long.

I stopped posting a bunch on the bowhunting forum for various reasons the biggest of them being the cat fighting that takes place in here on a constant basis, especially during season. It's absolutely astounding that a bunch of bow hunters whine and fight and piss all over each other the way we see in this forum. If I were an anti, I'd be laughing my butt off reading some of these threads thinking that a common foundation of the love of deer hunting isn't enough to keep bowhunters from scratching and clawing at each other. Funny, but pathetic.

Losing a deer is the hardest part of hunting and leaves you with a horrific feeling most if not all of the season and on into the next. Do your best to find him. If you don't find him, oh well, life goes on with a lesson under your cap.

Bottom line, if you can't exercise a little will power and suppress the feelings of excitement, you really shouldn't be hunting period... IMO...
I couldnt disagree more. I have hunted for going on 15 years and have killed several deer and i get excited each and everytime i see a deer, regardless of its a nice buck or small doe. Imagine all the young hunters out there just getting started who are attemtping to take thier first animal, you think they are going to be able to suppress their feelings of excitement, think they wont get a little buck fever? What are we supposed to say, "son, you cant go hunting because you get buck fever". Excitement is deer hunting, and you may make a bad shot or two in your life, lord knows i have, but in no way does that mean i should not be allowed to hunt. Unless someone is perfect and has ice in their veins, chances are pretty good they will rush a shot at some point in their lifetime.

yeah he could have mortally wounded an animal, get over it, its hunting, it happens

Great attitude.

You can qoute me here atlasman since you are so good at it and seem to really get a thrill doing it... Its a good thing atlasman hasNEVER made a mistake, thats why he can bash on others that have.

He didn't make a mistake........he made a bad shot, then followed it up with a concious decision to do the wrong thing........knowing he shouldn't do it.

atlasman I thought hunters were suppose to have each others back ? Is what cmscat50 did illegal ?

I'll defend his right to hunt till the day I die............doesn't mean I have to treat him like a baby and pretend he did a good thing.

Atlasman, I did not consiously go after the deer knowing it was wrong. I saw him walk well out of sight about 150 yards away and when I saw how much blood there was I thought he was dead on his feet for sure. That's why we tracked him.

Would I do it again...HECK NO. Did I learn a lesson?? Absolutely. I will never track another questionable hit again for at least several hours.

I said my peace in the beggining and the rest was in response to others replies to me..........I also have said nothing since Justin asked me to lay off.

Your post reads like a young kid wrote it so I guess pointing out that your name calling and hopes for people to get kicked off the board are more then a little hypocritical is probably a lost cause.
