Default stand stealers

[:@]This year i had my stand stolen... it was a ladder stand but it was still a nice one. I set it out on opening day(sept. 17th) and then i went back every weekend because of college and work. I went back about 2-3 weeks back and it was gone. I looked around to see if someone had just brought it down and moved it but i was ****ing gone. I told my buddy about it and he had his stolen too but his was on private property... Anyone else have this problem... had to vent

Never happened to me. However, other guys thatare in our club had their ladder stands stolen. I make it a point to always put a 1/4" cable with a padlock on every lock-on / climbing sticks as well as my ladder stands. So far its worked. The best thing about a padlock on your stands is that it will keep an honest man honest...Another deterant that I use is I etch my name on everything also with an awl in atleast two different places... Hope this helps, but the bottom line is this; ifthe low lifeswant your stand bad enough they'll figure a way to get it.

i lock mine and i put a 10 inch timber lock bolt thru that is hidden
i like them because there thin but it has about 1600 lbs of shear force
I use them alot building decks.I drive it in with a 18 volt driver the head is about a 5/16 th socket. i don't think you could take it out with a ratchet because of the size and length. They are case hardened and don't rust.Haven't had one stolen yet.

Sorry bout your loss. I had one stolen a few years back. It was a fixed position stand. I had pulled all the steps when I left. The monkey who stole it really wanted it. Hell, he prolly propped a ladder and took it. I havea climber now. I know who did it too, his time will come....Punk kid.
