He will be around.
Remember that most whitetails will spend their ENTIRE life within 1 square mile of where they were born.
Theu will travel if the herd gets overpopulated, though.
Kinda natures way of keeping the gene pools "clean".

According to "The Experts" he'll disperse. He's just a young thing. IF there are big bucks around they'll convince him to move on. Right now he's a baby living where mommy raised him. People get all caught up in these new BUZZ WORD CATCHY Phrases,.... ie... Management Buck. Well first off, you got to know some basics of managing a herd to make it a "Well Managed Herd" NO way in hell should you even raise the bow on a young buck in the 1 1/2 year old category, especially when it looks like he has what looks to be 5 on the left and 4 on the right. Don't get so caught up in the "Management Bucks" to the point you shoot off all your good genes. He isn't probably a management buck until he's 3 or so. Until he's 2 you really can't tell much. I doubt there are so many deer on this place you need to be worried about whacking bucks. You'd probably be better served whacking does and not worrying about "Management Bucks" at this time. AND... if there are others hunting this property and you can't control them(which I suspect is the case in Virginia) ....welllll .... you're just pissing into the wind trying to manage anything. The next guy will whack this little dude and parade him around town. IF you do have some control over the land, you'd be better off worrying about some food plots, posted signs, and keeping out the poachers.
