Grazed one
Tonight a decent buck came in behind me. He made a scrape, and I shot at about 20 yards. The hit looked low, and I waited an hour and a half to track. I found a few drops of blood, and my arrow, with blood about 5 inches up. I followed his tracks along a trail for about a quarter mile, and he was still moving. So I figure I must have shot low, and hit the sternum. I feel pretty bad about the miss, but knowing that the buck will still be there makes me feel better. I can't fathom he would die, with little blood, and after running and trotting over a quarter mile. Well, hopefully I'll get another shot this year.

Also, there is a ton of sign in the river bottoms. Tomorrow I'm going back for a little bit to make sure it was a flesh wound. How long before I hunt this spot again? I was thinking on waiting 2 or 3 days before attempting to hunt from there again. I think that there are enough deer to get another opportunity from the spot. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
