Well yesterday i went to my new deer lease to hunt for the first time. I'm on a 330 acre lease in Young County, TX. I am hunting next to a feeder also. I have a ladder stand on a telephone pole with a mesquite tree right next to me where i can't see to my right unless i stand up. Well before i got in my stand me and my dad got a bag of corn and threw it under the feeder and around it and then my dad threw some to my right to where i couldn't see. Well i got in my stand and about 6:00 i heard something behind me eating on the corn. It was so loud i thought it was a stupid cow. So i slowly stood up and saw the biggest hog i've ever seen. The wind was blowing my scent to him and he would look up every few seconds and sniff the air. So he walked back to where i couldn't see him so i tried to sneak out my stand and stalk him. I had two steps to go and the ladder like popped(i dont know how it did) and he looked right at me. I have to say i was just a little nervous and this is probably what my face looked like,. Well he started walking towards me then kind of trotted right at me from about 20 yards out. Well i ran up that damn ladder so fast he scared both of us and he took off. But i'll get him next time.(also so a big 8 but couldnt get a shot)

My friend had a big sow charge his last year. It was running full bore at him and out of self defense, he fired a shot at him but missed. Then he barely was able to jump into the jeep before she slammed into it. That's the most angry I've seen a wild animal.

I think it was curious and was wanting to see what i was. When i took off back up that ladder he was gone.
