I have a question about hunting in the rain. I guess I was born a gun-hunter and evolved into a bow-hunter. I would perfer to hunt on a overcast, even rainy day as opposed to bright sun. With a gun, no problem, shoot'em, drop'em, go get them. But standing in the rain last night, I pondered the ethics of bow-hunting in a rain. While I have dropped deer in sight with a bow sometimes tracking is essiential.
What's your thoughts?

I say, hunt. If tracking is a problem, I just call a friend with a good little tracking dog! If the rain is hard w/ wind and all, I'd back out esp. with a bow, but not because of "ethics"
I just wouldn't be able to see clearly, glasses!

Idon't hunt downpoors but drizzely is a great time. Bright red blood shows up real well for a good while. I never lost one in the rain and hope I don't. I think a hunter needs to make damn sure it is a double lung shot before releasing. I never seen a double lung shot go over 60 yds.

I don't mind rain as long as its not a downpour, which unfortunately this morning, is what I was in, add several close flashes of lightning an I made a hasty exit. But as others said, keep hte shots to absolute slam dunks, and you should have no problems.

Wont do it.And dogs are illegal in pa.. Plus here with all the posted land best not to have a harder tracking job then normal. Around here if someone else finds the deer first they just take it.

I'll hunt in any weather. It's always better than being at work or home wishing I was hunting. I can't see blood on the ground, so tracking is already more difficult for me anyway. Does this mean that hunting for me is unethical? NOPE. It just means Itrack differently than most.
