Wait....was this an offer to hunt for free or an offer to be on the TV mini-series?

Far too much drama on this thread.

Oh, and was airfare included?

Boy you texas boys are sensitive. Remind me of my wife.

... Yes I would take the hunt since it is not a high fenced operation.

...I do want to say this: comparing baiting to crop fields is stupid as hell. You would have to be a complete dumb ass to comparea 30 ft baitpile tomiles of crop fields. That one blew my mind.

... I just hope Kansas never becomes like Texas.I don't pay to hunt. And I have sole access tosomeof the bestland in the state.

If we were all that sensitive, we'd cut the pipelines and let all you other states find your OWN oil and gas.

Then I guess I'm a dumbass. Becuase all of the crop fields and food plots I've seen and hunted near have been under 10 - 20 acres. A statement about a 30 ft baitpile just shows your complete ignorance. In south texas there is VERY little natural food. Its a dry world down here. If we did not feed the deer, chances are we would loose just as much in the summer heat and the worst winter kills in the winter. Not to mention the fact that no deer in its right mind would ever leave the security of its thick brush on it own.

And the last time I checked, I dont pay to hunt here.

Superdave,

Go back and read my posts. I never bashed anyone for declining the hunt. I could give a crap about that, hunt where you want, how you want, within the boundaries of the law. It just doesn't matter to me. The one that got me started and that I take exception to was the "Everyone in Texas shoots deer over bait out the window of their pickup". Piss on that. Read what I wrote and not what you expected to hear. Anyways, I'm done with this thread, no further comments.

Edited to add that the post I am referring to was Bawanajim on page 7, so put yourself in whatever category you like. Have a nice day!

This is great!!! I like giving you Texas boys a hard time.

Arthur, way to have an ace in the hole with the oil, you got me there.[8D]

Josh, I don't give a rats furry white a$$ what you say, you simply cannot compare crop fields with baiting. I may be ignorant about south texas, I hope it stays that way, just kidding.Take a trip to Kansas someday, hell you can come hunt with me.[&:] I will show you crop fields of 100 acres or more.

bawanajim... That episode was hilarious.

Hey Criter If you want to quote me get it right ! You will not find that I said "everyone" in Texas Shoots penned deer over bait from the truck. I did make a mistake saying they shoot from the window ,most truck hunters shoot from a roof rack.[:@]

One of your own asked why people have a bad taste about hunting in Texas. I gave three reasons.

It does suprise me how many Texans get pissed off when people mention how some hunt down there. If there is nothing wrong with shooting penned deer from a truck over bait, I don't see why it should upset any body.
It is legal isn't it.

I would take it and donate it to Make-a-wish, providing they still grant hunts as wishes. If not I would find a suitable kid in need. Not much challenge and challenge is what makes them special when they hang on the wall. I don't care much for Texas whitetails anyway as they have small bodies and their racks are bred to be long in inches but the mass is somewhat nonexistant. They look almost nothing like a wild PA whitetail. I like the rough, knarrled look of old, wild PA deer.
OOPs....just to clarify. I am talking about high cost ranch "hunting". I am sure there are plenty of Texans who hunt wild, free range chick.....er....deer.

Great idea there is another group called " Hunt of a Lifetime " that seems to be a stand up bunch too.
