IMO that crimson croc head, and all other heads like it don't even look like they would work. Cut on contact is the catch phrase these days but many of the implementations are just terrible. Even respected manufacturers are getting caught up in this. The rocket steelhead XP looks pretty suspect to me.I will stick with the chisel pointsfor now.

Magnus and SteelForce have set the bar pretty high for other cut on contact heads to follow.........my brother destroyed the spine of a buck with a SteelForce head 2 years ago.
Whatever the reason is........these crocs are garbage.

If everyone would ignore the advertising hype and just the notion to try something newwe would all be shooting Muzzy's and broadhead failure would be a thing of the past!

. I had the same exact thing happen with a muzzy. It didn't break like that one but the sucker bent like a banana. It was a follow up shot so I still got the deer because of the first shot, but my muzzy looked like it got run over by a steam roller.

Was this shot about10 - 15feet away, almost directly into the ground?

Correct, I used Montec and they preform great and are cut on impact.
A properly made cut on contact head works very well
Looks to be a good head from what I have heard.........and now seen. Buddy of ours took a deer with a G5 the other day and we helped him track it down. Nice blood, good damage and the deer didn't go far. This guy shoots a bow from the freakin' stone ages too.......I bet he is well under 200 fps.
