There's acorns in every direction from their beds. How do you know which direction they're headed?
They have to be leaving some kind of signs of their passing , try climbing a tree and looking for fresh trails . The trails will most likely show you their preferred direction of travel from the beds or the nearest waterhole , and staking out a waterhole can be the most productive tactic when the pattern cannot be determined . Sometimes the aerial view is the only one that will reveal this , and with luck you may accidentally climb right over the busiest trail . At the very least you'll have some idea of where they are going . Look for poo or other indicators too .

Where I hunt we also have a ton of acorns this year. When I walk down the some of the old logging roads I feel like I am in one of those steak houses that give you peanuts and let you throw the shells on the floor. But we have some fall turnip blend plots that are also getting hammered. We have been planting them for about 3 years and always have great results. They seem to pull deer for all around us. This isn't a plug for anyone, I'm just throwing this out there. If you like hunting food plots check out Big Rack Trophy Products seed. It's a little pricey, but worth every penny.

Or just buypurple top turnips and clover seed and pay 1/3 the price.

2 straight seasons of bumper acorn crops and above average temperatures makes for some crappy hunting.........
