He looks about 18"-19" inside. His left side (right from our angle) is a lil weak, that would hurt the net (screw net IMHO! ). I have 2 P&Y 8s on the wall and one is wider, heavier, taller and longer and he grossed 131 and change and netted 127 and change. My other has about the same tine length as your buck, is muchheavier but narrower and he grossed 131 and change and netted 125 and change.

I would put the gross on this one in the upper 120s with a net in the low 120s. Still a FINE 8ptr and no less a trophy in most locales. 8s just aren't appreciated by the books and they suffer heavily on paper. An upper 130s-140 8 is a GIANT and would make most say, "OH GOD"!!! 8s just don't score for crap.

Good luck,
RA

ps
So imagine how I have been kickin myself for the last 2 years for NOT shooting a high 120s 6pt (yes 6!) that I had at 15 yrds in MO a couple of years ago during gun season. Thats high120"s with only 3 mass measurements as well... [:-]The beast had ft long browtines and equal G2s and "handful mass" all the way up. WTF was I thinkin? Like I've EVER seen a 6 that big in 20 years or ever will again!!! My brother had let the beast walk on opening morning, then another buddy let it walk the next morning (filmed by both) so I felt obliged to let it go as well. FOR WHAT??? [:@][:'(]A more unique trophy I've not seen in my life.

Did the same thing one year muzzleloader hunting. Beautiful OLD buck came out in a field, perfectly framed by a hillside of autumn leaves. He had mass, wide 17-19" rack but something like 3" -4" tines. Obviously on the decline of rack production. I hesitated and let him get away, like I had a bunch of 140" deer running around. I definitely watch Big Buck videos too much sometimes. I realized I'd goofed after he walked out of range.

That's a nice rack. Mid 130's I say.

6 and 8 pointers still get 4 mass measurements on each side. On an 8 point you measure half the distance between the tip of beam and G3 and take a mass measurement. On a 6 point you add that measurement again. It's usually a small diameter there and hurts score yes.

I'd guess upper 120s. Takes a big 8 to be in the 140s and he just doesn't have the mass to do it. So like the others said, go prove us wrong!

Very nice buck. Considering he doesn't have a whole lot of mass, but still has decent tine length and spread, I'd say between 125-130 Deer. Nice young buck!

I see you are from southwest minnesota. Does that happen to be in the marshall area? A couple of my friends were talking about a monster 8 pointer they spooked on pheasant opener...

I'm about 18 miles from Marshall. There is quite a bit of pretty good State land between where I hunt and Marshall!!!

I shot one similar to that year before last.I thought he was bigger but when I got him scored he netted 129.My bucks tines were a little longer. But yours looks to have a couple more inches in width.I also had to deduct for a 3 inch 9th tine.I would guess him to be lower 130's.
