Default Poop in scrapes?

My brother inlaw just came back from hanging a stand and said that every scrape has a pile of poop in it. There are 4 or 5 scrapes in this one area and it's loaded with rubs. I've never heard if this. Anybody ever see this?

Actually it is quite common. It's another way for the buck or doe to leave his/herpersonalized scent. Iwitnessed it (again) two days ago when a seven pointer walked into the scrape I was hunting over. He first rubed his forehead and licked the overhanging branch, pawed the ground up a bit, then did his duty. It's always a good sign to find fresh droppings in a scrape because sometimes they don'tclean it out to much with their hoofs, therefore, not letting the hunter know if it is being used.Good luck!

I also watched a doe that was being chased stop for just a second and do the duty right there in the middle ofa huge scrape. So yes, it is common. I would hunt that scrape line. Good luck.

Wow, that sounds like a really active area! Seeing multiple scrapes and rubs in one location is definitely a good sign. It indicates that there's significant deer activity in the area. The presence of poop in the scrapes could be a result of deer marking their territory or leaving scent to communicate with other capcut. It's not uncommon to come across such signs during the rutting season. It seems like you've found a promising spot with lots of deer movement. Good luck with your hunting endeavors!
