Cabelas coming to Berks Co. PA!

Subscribe
It's official - Cabelas is coming to Berks Co! On the front page of today's Reading Eagle is a picture of a trailer which says Opening Fall 2003 / Retail Showroom / Cabelas. Cabelas still isn't saying which Berks site it has chosen (Bethel or Hamburg), but they have eliminated Maryland. Cabelas claims that they are starting to bring in equipment because once they announce which site is picked, they want to start work immediately. This is the best news I've heard in a long time, and its especially good for Berks Co., which has lost thousands of jobs in the past year.

Great news Olink! I thought it was not possible to get me more excited on Eve of Bowhunting but I think you just did.

Ohhhhhh boy! My fiancee' thought that by moving away from the Bass Pro Shop in Ft. Lauderdale my bank account would be safe. I like Cabelas even better than Bass Pro. Now I gotta go give her the great news.<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Looks like a few road trips will be in my future! We have a Gander Mountain just a few miles from here which is nice, but it's no Cabelas!

Update - Cabelas has chosen the Tilden township location for its new store. It will be located at the northwest corner of the Route 61 and I78 intersection, just outside of Hamburg.

Man, just when I thought I was saving money!! My old lady will take the credit cards and all forms of money from me now.

That is awesome news!! It only makes sense for them to put one here in PA. The most hunters out of any state, they should make a killing here. Especially from me
