Default Well Fellas I did it

I scouted my 350 acres I have to hunt this morning and part of the afternoon. I saw alot of promising things including a very respectable 8 pointer. I found a vally that has had no livestock on it for a long time so there is alot of undergrowth. I found a rubline, and a few scrapes. Only one problem it was all across the fence on somebody elses. The ground I get to hunt has very little canopy, very little sign, 1 rub, and no deer droppings. What a letdown. Maybe I missed something but it just didn't look very promising. My biggest problem is that when I got permission to hunt it everyone said I was lucky to get it so I didn't pursue any other ground. Now I am stuck with trying to make something out of nothing. I am not discouraged though because at least I will be out there hunting even though it may not be the best ground in the world. The farmer that owns it has been at work alot with his bulldozer and has made a very nice cattle pasture for himself. Well Antler Eater said he will come over sometime this week and look maybe I am missing something. If there is any good spots in it he will locate them. That guy is awesome when it comes to bowhunting from scouting to harvesting the deer. Well Later guys Good Luck.

Woe is me LOL. It isn't that bad I guess

You might be surprised when the deer start moving, especially during the rut...don't despair....if the deer are just over the fence, they'll be on your side as well....

From what I've read, Antler Eater is a very respectable bowhunter. You could do alot worse.

Hey I traveled from Pa to Iowa to hunt deer because a friend moved out there and had property.when I arrived I thought you got to be kidding me. 200 acres of corn and a total 10 acres of woods scattered. Mostly fence lines and ditches. Looked terrible. By the time I left a week later I changed my mind. Seen 30 plus deer everyday and took home a 170 11 pt. Amazing how them deer came out from no where.

I would set up a couple small food plots to draw the deer on your side of the fence.
