google earth sat pics
anybody ever use this web site http://earth.google.com/to check out the lay of the land??
It's amazing!!! I use it all the time to check out new areas. Really gives you a better perspective. Also helps in finding new ways to get to a spot when the wind is against you. Check it out. There's a free version that does just fine for what I need it to do. There's also another I've played around with, www.keyhole.com . It's a pay site but will let you check it out for free for a week. Long enough to print out all of your hunting areas. Also lots of fun to play around with with the kids.

some of the pics have a better resolution than others. Keyhole had some pretty clear shots. We had a guy here (marine buddy of my nephew)from Texas, and we zoomed in on his parents home. You could see the broken fence in his backyard. .

I really think with Google Earth it's hit or miss. I can zoom in on the house and see it fine. But at a spot in town, the resolution is crappy, you can barely make out houses. I don't know. I like it for what it is. But you can find good maps on other sites too.
