I described a buck I took a couple years ago this way: He's a main-frame 5x5 with split brow tines, making him a 12-pointer. But that's just so you'd know how his structure looks. If anyone asks how many points he has, I say 12.

I would call it an 8 point. IMHO 4 X 4 and one sided counts are deceiving to the accurate count of points. Use the KISS analogy (keep it simple stupid)!

I get confussed so I callem all it's a 4x4, 8 point total, 4 on each side. kinda cover all the bases....

don't get to make the call all that often, most of the time its a floppy, oleskin head, ect ect.. :)

Here in Georgia, everybody would call it an 8 point. Maybe in Canada or some northern state, they might call it at 4x4 or just a 4 point.
