The new and improved looks seems to have taken they're cost in speed.

Site looks great but loading seems pretty slow. Or is that just mine? I checked some other sites and my connection seems fine. I'm sure it will get worked out. Thanks for all the hard work, guys.

Speed is fine for me but I can't get used to the smaller size. My monitor is set to 1280x1024 and I the page only takes up about 2/3 the width of my screen. I have big brown borders on the left and right sides. Yet when I do a "quick reply" it streches the forums out to full screen like they used to be.

The speed was probably on my end. It seems better now. I've got the brown strip at the edge, too.

That is funny. I am just the opposite. I cannot see the whole page as part of it runs off the left side of my screen. Even now, in replying I only see about two thirds of it.

I am also seeing the 'Strip' down the middle as opposed to the full screen version, but IMO this new one is loading much faster than any Huntingnet forum I ever remember on my classic AOL Dial Up.

I am having problems with things beeing coverd up. On some pages I can't login or change my profile or any thing else that is gruoped with those things. My page is to big and I have to scroll to the right to see the hole page. I am also having a hard time even getting to the forums it just keeps loading the hunting.net page. I am sure everthing will get worked out soon.

I have a few fixes to your problems.
1st for those who screen isnt big enopugh so you have to scroll to see the whole threaad.right click on your desktop go to properties then click on thesettings tab. Then look for screen resolution and you are probably on 800 by 600 at the most. Probably lower if it is lower then 800 by 600 then chnage it to 800 by 600 and hit apply.I use 1024 by 768 you can try this but some older comps may not be able to handle it as well.Try this and see how it works.I have the brown lines on the side as well.I will work with my adjustments I can make and see if I can fix it.Will let you know if I find a way to stretch the forum section.
As for the slow loading it should start being faster now that you have used it after the first time.Your comp will save the general page and smaller changes in it like posts will load faster now.So it should only load slower for your very first time using the forum. If it is still loading slow let me know I may be able to help you speed things up a tad.
As for the new forums I like them the looks are more natural for hunting style forum. Great colors and layout.

There are certainly going to be some bugs and issues to be working out in the upcoming days, but rest assured we're working on it. Keep in mind we didn't just redo the forums, we redid our entire site and condensed about 15 different websites into one. And ontop of all that we completely switched from classic asp programming to asp.net, which should hopefully result in quicker load times and more features down the road. Some of the issues people are having right now are a result of DNS changes to some of our domain names that are taking effect across the web. Anything with "hunting.net" in it is a thing of the past and everyone should be using "huntingnet.com" from now on. So replace your old "forum.hunting.net" bookmarks with "huntingnet.com/forum" ones.

The reason for the change in appearance is to give the board a similar look to the rest of HNI. In the past the forums kind of stood by themself and never resembled the rest of our website. Now that everything is under one roof, so to speak, we felt it would be better to have it all appear the same. It might take some getting used to, but a month from now you guys won't even remember the old site!

Oh, and you reeeeeeallly need to use a resolution of 1024x768 or higher in order to see the entire thing. Yes, there is a brown background but it fits in with the rest of the site, so deal with it.
