Just talked to Tim over there and ordered the factory imperfect suit. It is 3D with the ASAT pattern. Got a sweet deal!!! I can not wait until it comes.

Thanks for the advise!!!

AO,

I was out hunting the opener last night and decided to "stalk" my way back to my car.

I was able to get a young doe to within 3 yards (perhaps less) while wearing the ASAT 3D. It was too cool. I did not take her (she's barely out of her spots), but I could have and that's the point. Kind of like "counting coup". So far this year in the coup department it's the deer 1 - me 1. Not a bad first day. :)

I hunt in a suburbanized rural area. While stationary next to a hedge, I was able to see myself reflected in a sliding glass window and It looked like I was part of the hedge. I was nearly formless.

I think that it is the formlessness that makes this stuff so good. While I (as a human) could kind of see the difference in colors between the hedge, and me you could not discern a human form. Again it's hard to explain, but very cool.

BTW - I also purchased the MFG "seconds" suit. If this is "seconds", I can't imagine how nice or good the real production run is.

Good Luck and enjoy.

Justin,
I was talking to Tim for a while when I ordered my suit. Seems like a pretty good guy. Did you use the "Sport Wash" that he sent. He advised me that I need to wash the suit 6 or so times in that stuff and the roughness in the leaves (cut by laser) will come out. He advised me that commercial detergents will leave a "film" on the suit that makes it more visible because it will become somewhat glossy.

Can't wait to get it and try it out. I also got some of the N-O-DOR from Atsco because he swore by it. I was thinking of a Scent-lok suit for underneath, but I'll try the $10 options first.

This is my first year and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

I went to Wally World and bought the sport wash. It was less expensive there than Cabela's or BassPro.

Yesterday I wore a Suppresscent suit under the cammo. WOW WAS IT HOT! I sweat my butt off. Not good when you are trying to remain scent free.

I only washed my 3D 3x. The leaves seemed to soften up and everything seemed perfect.

Good Luck!

I don't know about this stuff guys. I read the scientific explaination of how the stuff works and it sounded like some one from a infomercial was trying to sell me car wax. I never heard of this stuff untill I read this post.
It took me a while to find a real photo of it.(not one hidden in the woods) and I noticed it looked exactly like some of the old style camos. I can't remember the name of it right now but I've seen this stuff under a diffrent name. It uses the same theroy that preditdor camo uses. except Predatdor looks better IMHO.
I won't totality discount it as of yet I could be wrong, but I not convinced of it's super blending abilities yet either. Good hunting Jim

I agree, what kind of company only posts obscure photos of their product from a distance? I would never buy something from somebody afraid to give me a close-up view of their product. I'll stick with the companies I know and trust.

Hey guys can the newbie to the board weigh in on this and ask another question? Does anyone here use a ghillie suit? I made one last year and had several redneck fairy tale adventures (you know they start with "no ####, this really happened".) Even had an occasion in which a flock of turkeys came in on my feeder while I lay there in the suit. Got on the scoreboard with it and they still wouldn't leave. Finally jumped up and shouted boo! They ran out about 20 yards but still milled around and started to come back. I just walked off and left them to the feed. They literally stepped over the gun barrel. Now with a bow its different. Does anyone here use a ghillie? Ever considered it? This one cost all of about $30 to make. Just a little time while watching the outdoor channel. They work, I swear. Have taken two deer from the ground without a blind using them. One at 10 yards.

Well guys when I first heard about and seen ASAT the first time I was a little weary too.

On Saturday my 3d suit was put to the test I climbed out of the tree to go see my hunting buddy.
I walked within 10 feet of him he did not have a clue I was there till I spoke and scared the bejesus out of him.
When I did speak he was facing me so it is not like I snuck up behind him either.

Jimbow, Cabelas, I've been using ASAT for about 15 years or better. You have doubts but you wouldn't if you saw ASAT stand along side other camo's, especially Mossy Oak and Realtree. You'll decide those camos are only good at a couple feet vs yards. If I had a digital camera I'd show you what I mean. I washed all my camos today and currently I have on my cloths line several manuf of camo. I have Mossy Oak, Realtree extra Grey, Predator and ASAT. You need only walk about 20 yards until you notice that Realtree and Mossy Oak blend into a dark blob. IF your not wearing ASAT or Predator, your not wearing camo. NOW, the ASAT 3D suit allows you to disappear even more. I guarantee that if you were to see ASAT 3D up against any camo out there, you'd be sold in a heart beat. PERIOD.

OUR fighting troops over seas are not wearing Realtree or Mossy Oak, they are hiding for their lives against human eyes and what do you think they wear....that's right ASAT. How can you argue with that?

The reason they demo their camo at a distance is that is where the deer are going to be and you get a look from a deers perspective. How often are you going to be close up to a deer to look at the camo which by the way will still hide you. You have to be close to other camo to even recognize it as such. As you distance yourself at a deers range from Mossy Oak or Realtree, it blends and makes you stick out as a big blob, not breaking up your silhouette as ASAT still does at all distances.

IT's simple, take the test, you'll be surprised.
