I've personally never had a stand stolen, but its bound to happen to me sooner or later.

What is the worst part? Having to buy a new stand, or living with the fact that you were robbed by your "peers."

I can totally understand. I have never had a stand stolen but I have had a game cam or two. It can be frustrating knowing that other hunters aren't respecting your property.

Ya know what I ended up doing was to take the portable ladder down after my hunt for the day. Most of these thives are not going to go to the trouble of puting up a ladder to get your stand. And the way most of the stands blend in you don't really see them unless your looking for them. I know its a pain but what else are you going to do except shell out your hard earned money for new ones. Good Luck Mike

If you leave anything in the woods long enough it is going to dissapear, private land or not. That is just the way it is. I never leave anything in the woods for long anymore.after my camera dissapeared.

I hada Lone Wolf stolen that was locked with what I thought was a good cable lock also on private land, that stung! Those friggen things are around 350.00. Isn't there a type of locking set up that can't be cut?

I agree, I 've had to switch to a climbing tree stand because things got so out of hand where I hunt.

A small block of C4 with a pressure release switch and a couple of inches of det cord should do it. You'll need to do some DNA tests to find out who it was, but I'm sure the word will get out. I have a friend that has a construction outfit and on occasion a valuable piece of his equipment would get lost from the job site. He had a tracking system installed on high value items like compressors, backhoe and trailers. I think he called it Lojak. One nice fellow decided he needed Rick's compressor more the he did and borrowed the unit. Seems the gentleman liked to do this on a regular basis in a 3 state area and sell the units out of state. These fine people from Lojak tracked him down before he pulled into his driveway. Don't know what it costs, but it won't mess up your favorite tree as the C4 will.
Semper-Fi....
