that just urks me beyond words....i had someone shoot the lock off my first climber...granted i shouldn't have left it up as long as i did but that was not the point...the fact that there's some butthead out there calling himself a hunter when in reality he's a scum suckin' thief just blows my mind...since then when i repaint my homemade stands i add thumbprints to the camo and a lil something else so i know how to identify it if it's stolen...granted i get the oppurtunity to recover it....hope y'all find the blankity blank that stole it.

i would make up a cheapo stand or use an old junker stand that looks the part anyway and coat it in anti sieze type silver grease. you will at least ruin 100$ of there cloths. on second thought dont do that they probably will take you to court[:@]

I had a stand stolen three years ago by a neighbor who lived out of state. I actually caught him in it. He said it was his until I showed him my name underneath it. Another word and I would have wiped the forest floor with him.

Personally I don't see how you could really live with yourself during season when you're hunting in somebody else's stand that they either built or bought and spent time hanging. If I ever did that, I would hopeto getpunished. Good thing I don't do that. haha

I had the same thing happen on my property 2 years ago. I never posted it but that started me posting. I also found out the probable theif cruises around on a quad and steals others also. So I set out a spike strip at the property line and approx 50 yards further down the trail posted a sign: GOT YOUR FIX A FLAT? He is no longer riding because I noticed the trails are completely covered in now with weeds.

I seem to have atleast one stand stolen a year.lastr year was the first year I actually had what I started with.I put 2 stands in one tree a couple years ago.I had a friend who didnt bow hunt come and stay a couple weeks with me during season.I had just bought one of the stands to put him in and some new climbing sticks.Well i shot a nice buck out of that tree first day we hunted it.I came back 2 days later to get the stands and mpove them to another property and they were gone.Talk about mad.I had them both locked on.They cut thew locks.Atleast they took them instead of throwing them on the ground.Prolly knew I would have the police check them for prints.
One good thing came out of it though. My friend was hooked from the first time I took him.He asked me to take him the next day so he could buy a bow.We got hima PSE and I set it up for him.Unfortunately he passd away before the next season so he didnt ever get to get his first deer.

I could image how an experienced MARINE like yourself would deal with these menaces to society. Swiftly and diligently!!!
By the way, THANKS for all you've done for ALL of US.
