I bought a steel stealth cam protector from our local Dicks Sporting Goods store for $15. It fits a few different models and comes with a cable that locks to the tree also. I did get a pic of a bear this year but he didnt touch the camera yet. Dont ask me why. I'm afraid to find out if the steel contraption works or not. I saw whata bearcan do to a camera and would not appreciate it.

What was said about the film smell is true. Going digital would solve that.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but here in WI, we use Deep Woods OFF to keep the bears off our cams. Of course we only spray the cams with OFF when they're on bait sites, but we didn't have so much as a mark on the enclosures. I'll look around, but I've got one closeup of a bear and the next one is it's tongue. The next pic the bear was back at the bait....didn't like the taste....lol. Just a thought for ya to try.

had any problems with that messing up the lens?

I know I've gotten that stuff on the face of my watch, and it's really hard to get off
