Strange things happen when broadheads meet meat.
About the time you figure you've seen it all or know the answers, you get one of those "Howdid that happen"???? Congrats on the elk. Great story.

CG, i had the same deal happen to me last year on a cow elk. but when i posted it here people said B.S. well i can tell you when it happens to you, you won't forget. when an elk lies down after the shot not falls down they can live a loooong time. this year my shots a going to be low in the chest, hopefully though the heart! and this is the best archery shot PERIOD!

I'm a believer. That last arrow couldn't have been more perfect. Went in the carcass and saw the "X" in each lung. Clean through and LOTS of blood in the chest cavity. Very weird deal!
