Since I have a 2 deer a day limit here. Take the crip and sit it out and see what happened, if another deer, preferably the 20 pt then all the better. I have had the good fortune of taking 2 deer in the same evening sit before...1st a doe then late a 6 point

A deer with a bum wheel is not that big a deal. I've had a doe with a bad leg for 3 years now that comes thru the yard, she has fawns of her own and gets by just fine limping around.

I really don`t know? I guess I would have to wait for that day to see?
To me it would depend on how bad the injury was? IfI thought for any reason this buck would die from the injury than the awnser is yes I would But if he is just limping around and seem to be doing ok than most likely not.I shot a 3 1/2 yr old 9 pt. a few seasons back. That had been shot in the leg buy a gun hunter at least one or two hunting seasons before. The bullett was still in his legwhen I shot him and this buck was getting around just fine with only three legs as amatter of fact when I shot him he took off running as if hehad5 legs with a turbo chargerhook to his butt.

I had a doe walk through last year just outta range and behind some trees. I got video of her...she was badly injured nad her front leg was just swinging at the joint. I wanted to help her out because she looked to be in alot of pain but she never got close enough. Maybe she made it throught the winter but she did not look good.

OK here goes, if the deer in my opinion is going to make it through the winter I am letting it walk. If it isnt going to weather the winter i probly will take him. The wolves do have to eat also, I hate to admit it but they do. Crippled deer is probly their #1 food source up here also. Especially in the winter.

He's down, but thats a no brainer here in Alabama as we don't have the limits per season like some states. Now it would be much harder if i was hunting in a state where there was a 1 or 2 buck season limit. I would just have to determine how severe he was. If I thought he would survive id let him walk but if i was very uncertain about his fate i might have to take him.
