API Climber Chains - When to Replace ?

If they don't show any sign of wear, other than the plastic covering being torn off in spots, I wouldn't worry. If the chain is corroded, cracked, split, or you just feel unsafe using them, replace them.

Though I personally agree with MO I do remember seeing something on the Bowsite a few years back that they suggested changing them after two years or solid use. If you don't use them heavy then maybe I could see three years. They aren't really expensive if memory serves....around $40 IIRC.
