I would not kill that buck this year, but in 2 years he's going to be a very mature deer in 3 years he will be a brute. That's a very nice looking young buck, not to mention a very nice photo your scouting camera took. Very nice. Keep them coming! Harvest a doe for meat, save a young buck.

I would put a tag on that buck in a heartbeat. There's no difference between a small buck and a big buck except for size....why must we wait? The only reason to wait is so that he can grow, but that is if he lives and even then, why is there a notion out these days that hunters should only take mature bucks? Bull.

Personally, I would let him grow up.
