here is a new piece of land that i got permission to hunt....tell me what you think...where would you hunt....talked with the landowner and I would prob be the only one hunting it. He said its 55 acres and that a few years ago, this one guy shot a buck in there that went around 150-160. i haven't had a chance to walk through the woods(waiting for a nice rainy day) but have had a chance to glass the fields....i was thinking that lower corner of the field about 20-25 yards inside that....let me know

Im goin to say you have the right idea where to hunt that piece of land because its really farthest away from all the land developments but id wait until you have scouted the property to make ur desicion

that looks like an excellent choice, also around the 10 o clock position there looks to be a point where the field goes into the timber. to the left of that would be another choice of mine. Id also look for any exsisting trail connecting those 2 points for the deer to travel from the timber that lies beyond the property.good luck and keepus posted

Looks like a couple of funnels on the back corners. Is that a drainage running through the back? Whats the pressure like around it? Hows the prevailing wind direction in relation to the lay of the land? Need more info.

its just a grass field...all of them are...and the grass in some points is almost as tall as me....6'2"!....winds from the west blowing into the field, so deer coming from the timber would not smell me.....i just went back and scouted and jumped two small deer...i think those backfields would be great in late afternoon...maybe where the two fields come together in the back.....there is a stream that zig zags through the woods and most of the left edge is real swampy with the big skunk leaves...(i think that is what they are called) there are two horse trails that run through the top section and the lower right corner.....keep the suggestions coming..thanks

Now that you mentionedthat ther is a creek running thru it I would hunt alot on that creek. Bucks in my area love to run up and down the creeks. Looks like several good spots on that plot.
