Who got you into hunting?

I got myself into hunting. My dad is the only person in my immediate family that hunts, and he onlyhunts dove and waterfowl. He didn't hunt until I started. One day we were driving, and I asked him if I could go squirrel hunting with my pellet gun once the season opened. I printed out a papercalanderand marked the days down until squirrel season. I scouted the land that I was going to hunt, and found out that you cannot just hunt on any land. That land was someone's land, and I did not want to break the law. I asked my dad where I could hunt. He told me that hehad several friends who had a hunting camp. We went 4 wheel riding one day, and when we took a break I walked around the woods looking for animal signs. They told me that those woods were packed with squirrels. They invited me for a squirrel hunt, and I took them up on the offer. The first two times I did not get a shot off, but the third shot I shot at a squirrel. I was walking through the woods when I say two squirrels running on a log. I crept to within 20 yards and shot. I wounded it and he ran up the next tree. My dad's friend came around and scared him to my side, and I pulled the trigger. The safety was on! By that time the squirrel was on the other side of the tree, so he shot it. I have been hooked ever since.

My Father was a Self Taught Hunter and Fisherman, coming from a city life, he was mainly drawn to the meat involved in the sports. He started a meat hunter and to this day is still a meat hunter...which isnt necessarily a bad thing! He got my brothers and Sister all into the Outdoors Scene and I started going with them occasionally when i was probably 10. then at age 13 he purchased an old Remington 870 Wingmaster 16ga. for me...Used that weapon for four years...untill early july when i purchased a mossberg 835
2 years ago a buddy i hunt with all the time got me into Bowhunting. I was 15, had like 7 or 800 dollars saved up and went and purchased a 2003 Pearson 440 Quad, I have been hunting deer for two years now with 1 miss. That man also got me into turkey hunting 4 years ago, taking me out with him a few times and now i can safely say that I Live for Spring Gobbles, it's my absolute favorite season.
But what's funny is currently, one of my brothers, (they're twins) just graduated from N.C. State as a Professor of Philosopy and Hardwood Management (now a professor at Arkansas University), and my other brother is a soon to be a Professor of Philosopy and Fish Toxicology at Southern Illinois University, and my sister, after a long wait has just become a Game Warden in Durango, Colorado. All because of my dad and my sibling's grandfather who was a DNR officer in NY.
