New Crossfires- THEY SUCK when it comes to durability!
#11
I find this hard to believe. I personally saw a Crossfire fly through a 250 pound deer and burry itself about 10" into the ground before finally stopping inside a thick tree root. When dug out of the root, the head was perfectly fine!

Buck Magnet, I sure wish I couldn't believe it because these heads fly so perfect with my gold tips. Just so you know I have nothing to gain in not telling the truth in what I have learned. I have 2 more heads and I will test them out as well but I need to figure out a good test that will be fair and equal to all the heads involved. I have honesty thought about shooting them all agains a brick wall. That would sure tell which heads can take the abuse and what heads can't. If someone has a good idea please let me know how to test them. Also I am not saying they can't kill a elk, but I just worry about hitting a shoulder bone, or other big bones in a elk. If I was only deer hunting I would use them in a heart beat, but with elk I have my doubts. A big 250 poundbuck, and a big 800 pound bull is totaly two different critters, not to mention that all elkhave a will to live that makes them very difficult when the shot is not so perfect.I have to know that my equipment will perform no matter what. If there is no doubt in my mind that gives me extra confidence in the field. And that is what matters to me. I know that this year when elk hunting its not a matter of if I get a shot under 20yards at a bull, its only a matter of when. At that time Ineed to be worried about making the shot and not be worried about my broadhead performance and bloodtrail.

Shooting into the dirt is a GREAT way to test broadheads IMO. I've had the same results on broadheads bending as these pictures shot the Crossfires. I also shot a bunch of Cut On Impact heads the same way.
Two things are true IMO
Thunderheads don't bend, and Zwickey's don't tip curl
