Shot an 05 Old Glory..May give up on Oneida's after all....

Well in that case I guess I am going to have to give that Oneida Black Eagle a whirl. Was the dry cycle the only real noticeable difference between the two in your opinion?

Promoter? No, but I hate all the crap out there about Oneida's. Almost everytime I hear something bad about Oneidas is "my brothers, cousin, sisters, dad, had an Oneida about 10 years ago and he said it was loud" or, the person who had shot an Oneida, the bow was back from the Loomis era. The quality standards were so low with his bows.
Pa, Im not sure if your being a smart-elleck, with the rest of them, but I will answer you. No, the draw cycle was one of them. The vibration I felt when I shot, I didn't like either, wasn't much, but it was there. I didn't regard the sound either, because this was a target bow and had no silencing thingamajiggers on it, I dont even think it had the Hush Kit on it.

Oh, I forgot. And the write up? I was just trying to give you an idea of how bad the Loomis Era was, and why Monster Bows is even a company.

Truth be told, I didn't read any of the rest of the posts after your original one. I was being sincere in giving the Oneida a whirl since it has been some time since I tried one. The lack of hush kit and/or a target bow setup might explain some of the vibration during the shot.

I swear, people just like to bicker! I feel like I'm at work reading this thread.
Thanks for the info Dairy King. That Stealth sounds like a hot setup and well worth trying.

Ok. So, if it makes that big of a difference in having two inches of draw, dis-regard this post, heck, delete it if you'd like. Next time I'm up there, hopefully, I will get an Allegiance or something of that sort in my draw and poundage.
and I know this is what you want to hear....BowTech is the almighty God. BowTech OWNS Oneida. There I said it. Happy now?
Just messin with ya guys, don't get excited. [8D]

I would say that it should be expected that a bow that shoots 50-75fps faster with any given arrow weight would vibrate a bit more and have a more aggressive draw cycle. Secondly, the 2" too long draw lenght is probably a major factor in the way the bow feels. I can't stand to shoot a bow that it 1" too long, and since my form goes to crap , which is probably why your arm got slapped bad. If you want to have a truly 'open mind,' I think you should go test another Old Glory set up with the proper draw length. Based on some of your posts, I can't help but conclude that you have a strong bias both toward Oneida and against Bowtech, and really any other bow that isn't Oneida, and that you can't help but let that color your judgement of the OG.
