Couple questions here.

How many private land acres do you have permission / access to?

How many of those acres do you have exclusive permission on?

How would the acreage break down? Ex. How many acres of the properties are fields, woods etc etc.

I have a friend that let's me hunt on his land of about 650 acre 2 large feilds of about 40 acre each side buy side. one has cow's in it the other has bean's in it lot's of deer's taken for the bean feild the rest is hill's creek's and small feild's great for turkey's

However, I might be able to bowhunt on my oldest sister/bro-in-law's farm in upstate NY (south of Utica, near Hamilton). They have a 125 acre farm with a bunch of horses.

I am able to hunt on several pieces of private land.


My dad owns the following:

70 acres- This is pretty much cleared off. It is going to be developed.
150 acres- This is all pine forest.
265 acres- This has a few plots. It is used for a hunting camp. I do not hunt this, but I could if I wanted to.
150 acres- This is also a hunting camp. It has about 11 food plots. I do not hunt this either.
30 acres- This is in the middle of the city. I don't hunt here.

This is my dad's friends land:

200 acres- He gave me a key to the gate. I can hunt here whenever I want.
5 acres- This is his yard. He has some nice bucks there.

30,000 acres in florida, its my club no fields all hardwoods, pines and clear cuts.

2000 acres in Greenville, Al Pines, hardwoods, Clearcuts about 5 acres of greenfields

200 acres in Lafayette, Al Hardwoods and about 65 acres of greenfields

1800 - 2000 + depending on the year

500 or so

If the total is 2000 then 500 are woods , 300 is CPR and the rest is farm feilds.

But I hunt funnels on 2 farms that are creek lines 10 acers or so each , that conect larger Nonpermission woods.

I don't have any exclusive rights, but have about 300 acres total. Its divided into three farms and I spend most of the time on one with 106 acres.

I have access to 3000+ acres of private land between PA, and VT. The Vermont ground is in 2 parcels, one is about 1500 acres. About 500 of this is field, but no crops other than alfalfa anymore. The rest is mixed hardwoods and softwoods, but mostly maple.

I only have exclusive property access at my family's property and their neighbors in PA which totals about 200 acres. Probably 40 of this is field, the rest is swamp, and open hardwoods most of which is mixed red and white oak. There is great hunting there.

204 acre lease, hooked up from leasemaster.com, Its surrounded by 3 other secs owned by the same guy in the 'golden triangle' of KY, only hunters that lease it are me and dad.

I hunt the family property of 600 acres. It has about 100 acres of food plots throughout. All of our property is bordered by state corrections ground where no hunting is permitted but one or two days a year for antlerless deer. Big buck heaven.;)

I have about 300 acres around my house that is all private property only open to my family and my best-friend. My best-friend and I hunt his uncles property which is about 200 acres and their is only one other guy that hunts this property.

Saturday my sisters boyfriend and I hit the jack-pot. A lady he works with gave us permission to hunt her property. It hasn't been hunted in about 7 years and there is a little over 900 acres for just the two of us. We checked this property out and it looks awsome. We will be putting cameras up on the property in the late summer to see if we can find some good bucks!

I went from roughly 4,500 acres of private land last year to just over 150 acres this year since the ladnowner decided to sell out. [:'(]

Hopefully the new landowner will allow us to continue hunting the property, if not, I'll just have to stick with the 150.

I have 10.5 acres that I built a small cabin on and I have access to the 80 acres next to me.There's about 400acres on my other border that I can pay $40/yr to hunt on but I never did.

One area that I hunt is 2.5 million acres. Public of course. You lose most at the first couple of miles. I have exclusive rights with one other guy to several thousand acres. Beer and potatoes goes a long way. He even went the distance to build us a bunk house to sleep in. We were told last year that all people go through us if they want permision to hunt. I have a ranch of about a tousand acres in another area that I hunt, where we get permission by supplying ice cream and tanned beaver hides. I mostly hunt public, and my favorite spot is a block of roadless area that is 10 miles wide by 50 miles long. Other than the two ranches, I hunt all public.

None usually that is guaranteed/Every year I must beg and scrape the bottom of the bucket areas. The one handicap hunt I go on every year for 1 day only is the only guaranteed spot

I have access to about 550 tht I will hunt regularly, I could get more easily. That 550 is 2 different spots. One spot is 350 and the other is about 200.

Other people are allowed to hunt these properties.
The 200 acres is new for me this year the owner said others have permission to hunt it, but it hasn't been hunted in a few years.

The 200 acres is mostly wooded surrounded by a river on one side and fields on the other. The 350 acre plot is farm land with woods and fields equally split, feilds have oats in some corn in some and the others is pasture.

I hunt 4 diffrent properties or regions. In Southern Maine I hunt on a piece of land about 3 acres in size. Well, that's what we own but the piece of woods is probably 15 acres with a hald dozen houses on it. Our land just happens to be a great creek bottom funnle. In Souther NH I hunt on 54 acres of private land. It's mostly hardwoods (red oaks and beech) with a good portion of swampy lands. In the North of Maine and NH I hunt on paper company land that is comprised of 100,000's of acres. I can't possiably hunt it all so I have 4-5 high priority areas I like to hunt depending on the weather/winds.

I have access to thousands of acres. But I spend 98% of my time hunting on family owned 460 acres.

I have access to 5 private properties. 3 of them touch, making a block of about 250-300 acres. It is roughly half wooded, and not really exclusive to me, but not hunted too hard either. Land #4 is around 70 acres 3/4 wooded, just about exclusive to me but its not prime land at all. Last spot is probably 200 acres, 50% wooded, really nice place, but hunted HARD. It's crawling with people. Still lots of deer though.

in kentucky i have my family's farm which is about 300 acres of farmland along with some that the neighbor lets me hunt. then one o0f my relatives is going to let me hunt her 640 acre farm

in florida i can hunt a 600 acre area of pine and thicket like stuff along with a few other small areas.

I have access to about 1 dozen lots in neighborhoods. If I added it all up maybe 50 ac. However since the places I pick back up to parks and preserves you can add a lot more non-hunting land that the deer travel in and out from. I'm always looking for that next neighborhood.

2----1000 acres,maybe 600 acres is bush,100acres swamp,300 in field
3----400 acre farm,mostly field with small bushlots scattered on property

All this is exclusive to me during bow season which lasts 3 months,except the 1000 acres which is shared with the rifle season the first week of november-----after that its all mine.
The 400 acre farm isn't farmed anymore and is prime land,got permission as well to plant a food plot,the guy who owns the land will work it up for me:)
1200 acre is all mine------archery only-----this is my favorite parcil of land and passed on alot of nice bucks.Within a few years they will be monsters;)

I belong to the Run and Gun Hunting Club here in Fayette County, WV. We have approximately 8,000 acres to hunt on and there is private land dotted all around and in it. Most of the property is wooded area, there are some areas that have clear cuts and some that were select cuts. There are fields that surround the border of the property and of course we have the New River National River that boaders another part. Some of the property at one time had surface mines that have now been reclaimed and make good areas to hunt due to the autumn olives that were planted and the old sediment ditches that are still there that hold water. Plenty of deer, squirrels, turkey and bear on this land! Just need to be in the right place at the right time.

6 acres owned by the family that is sort of our base of operations and 160 acres leased nearby. The leased land is all timber land, no fields. The owned land is mostly farmed (garden).

Private Land, I have a couple pieces both ranging around 300-400 acres. 1 of which I have pretty much to myself (my brother and I) during archery season. The other private piece a lot of guys use.

Most of my hunting is done on big tracts (thousands of acres) of public or timber company ground. I narrow my hunting down to buck core areas from scouting them. These lands are all public accessible and in some cases heavily roaded due to the timber industry. There are those pieces though that are not roaded and serve as great sanctuarys for deer and elk. All of this land including the private are big forest/logging type habitats, that run for 50 miles in every direction. Clearcuts are the main food sources, and this is definately "big woods" country. Deer are free to roam and feed in every direction for miles on miles. We have a wet climate, not as extreme as our coastal temperate forests but still very wet. Vegetation here is plentiful anywhere the timber canopy has been opened up. We also have low land farm ground in the valleys and river bottoms, lots of streams, creeks, rivers and lakes.

Me and 11 other guys lease 14,000 acres of which we have exclusive hunting rights off a 72,000 acre ranch

Most of the land is covered with brush and cactus with senderos(roads) criss crossing all over the place.

I own 80 acres of all wooded land, I also have permission to hunt the following tracks of private land:

20 acre parcel
120 acre parcel
600 acre parcel
140 acre parcel
100 acre parcel
100 acre parcel

We mostly tend to hunt on four of the parcels and often times do not even hunt the other areas. I tend to be one of the lucky one's.

I have access to about 170+ acres this year, all owned by relatives or neighbors so I will be the only one with access. Last year I only had access to about 70 acres so the additional 100 has me really excited. Now I just need a plan and some time off!!:)

1. None really unless you count some of the farm game co-ops.

2. In which case, about 150 acres and I share them with a few other guys.

3. As for a breakdown I would wager the co-op is about 90 percent woods and 10 percent fields.

I have access to +/- 300 acres total. I have 250 in SE Indiana, and I hunt a small tract in Clermont County Ohio. I took deer off both properties this year, and saw ALOT of deer at each place:D:D

I own 80 acres. I lease out 50 of it to a farmer for agriculture so I can afford the place leaving 30 that is actually hunted. Of that I concentrate on maybe half that. Relations are good with the neighbors so I can bow hunt on another 40 to my south, 60 to my east, 240 to my north, and 40 to my west. If it sounds like a lot it's because it is. I'd even say it's too much at times. Try dragging a deer back from the back half. I still prefer to hunt the best 15 acres on my land because It's under my control. I also know it best. I only hunt the neighbors land with a climber or from the ground and rarely even then.

80 acres all family owned. About 35 woods and 45 field. Only family can hunt it so right now that is just me and my son for bow. Everyone else only gun hunts.

when I lived in missouri I had 1,113 acres of private land to hunt the only other person who hunts it is my father inlaw, but we usually hunted together.

Here in arizona I have 212 acres of private land to hunt thats belongs to a friend of mine and his cousin. Or I hunt in state land which is thousands of consecutive acres, though its public I have yet to encounter another hunter.

I have permission to hunt 515 acres on several different pieces of land. I'm in the process of buying some of my own.
