Hi All, I came up with the idea of seeing what everyones tactics are for bagging big bucks.
Tell us any scents, decoys, calls, or anything that you may use.
I'll start off.
I don't have a stand or a ground blind yet so I camo up real good and go find a good place to sit down. Once I'm settled in I spray a little pine cover scent around my area.
Occasionaly I blow my Primos "Still Grunter" to draw any nearby bucks.
I haven't bagged a deer yet this season but I'm just getting warmed up.
Let's hear about yall.

Well, more than not I hunt from a treestand. I use earth scent, pine scent, or white oak acorn scent wafers when appropriate to cover my scent up. If the rut or pre-rut is in I may use some deer urine or other scents. I also spray my clothes down with scent eliminator. I take a grunt tube and rattling bag though I don't use them much at all. I just reckon it's better to be prepared and have them then not to. I also camo up. I try to have little to no skin showing, whether I'm up in a stand or not. I usually try to set up on the edge of a food plot or over well-traveled deer trails. Good luck to ya this season!

First and foremost pre scouting your area. You have to know where to start your hunt.Just walking into a timber isnt going to put you on a big boy.You have to put yourself on him.Disturb little as possible.Your in his back yard.If someone started cutting branches and trees in your yard your going to know it,So will they. They will move to another area when pressured.
I like a good camo pattern to match the changing seasons.Scent eliminator on my clothes and equiptment.I usually hunt from a stand,so i put scent out 20 yds around my stand.Sometimes i dig fresh dirt in spots around the stands that seems to draw them in to investigate.
During pre-rut-I like to rattle and grunt.During the rut i stay in my stand all day.You never now when they are going to chase a doe past you or on the prowl for a hot doe.
It's not how big the Deer,But the size of the experiance that matters!!
