Ks, yeah the article talks about how he met a local family that had found a huge shed on this public piece and how he pre-scouts it and finds a spot he likes to hang his stand near some big buck sign he finds. Then he comes back to KS during season and hunts it and some private both. He sees a lot of pressure on the public but later finds out its mostly from duck hunters. The duck hunters tell him they think the deer pretty much got used to them as they are seeing a lot of deer. So Jeff goes back in for one more hunt only 100 yards or so away from the duck hunters blasting away on the public spot and ends up harvesting this bruiser that same day.

I hear you there shed. I've hunted most all the public land in the county. The duck hunters are hunting it all the time, and the deer don't care. The just get used to the daily shooting. I've had the duck hunters with seeing distance and had deer come from the direction of the duck hunters. Of course theres only one public spot like that

Kansas is God,s country boy,s. Come and see us this fall. There are deer like that all over. So much farm land and creek bottoms, perfect habitat. Mild winters have been common here for say 10 to 15 years. At least in eastern Kansas any way.

That definitely is a brute...and on public land to boot. I don't know how it is out there but if a buck like that was shot here on public land then there would be quite a stir. Alot of nice deer takin' this past year.
