Golden Key Mirage Fall Away Rest:
Construction: Machined Aluminum.
Overview:
It has taken me a while to get interested in the recent fall away rest movement. I often wondered if it was worth even changing rests. Well after a lot of research and comparing products I went with the mirage. This was a solid built design and I have always had a lot of faith in Golden Key's rests. Well I am glad I tried this rest, it shot great and worked wonderfully.
Rating system is like this 1 = poor, 10 = best.
Durability: 10 - A nice solid design. I really like the super scoop launcher and I had no problems with any screws working loose.
Quality: 10 - I have never had any problems with Golden Keys rest, as always they have great quality.
Price: 10 - Considering the cost of some other drop away rests this one has a very attractive price. For the quality and the lifetime guaranty you can't go wrong.
Warranty: 10 - A 100% lifetime limited warranty.
Tune ability: 10 - This rest was super easy to get to shoot well. The flight was excellent and I found no matter how big the fletch or how hard the helical I never had any problems. My accuracy at 50 and 60 yards was great.
Total Score: 10
Final Comment: If you have not tried this rest give it a try. I think you will really like it and will find is one of the best hunting rests I have found for a release shooter. As always the quality is great and for a hunter you have lots of versatility for fletching selection, amount of helical, etc. You won't go wrong with this rest, trust me on that!
I found that is was a nice rest to get a fast second shot off and was really quiet to shoot. I had no problems at all. I can't wait to try this out in the deer woods this fall.

I'm glad the Mirage has caught on and is getting the respect it deserves. It's an excellent rest and as I have stated many times on this board and others, it does indeed improve your shooting. I can't wait to get into the timber in a couple of weeks to have a go at some Illinois whitetails.

Party on......I'm new to bowhunting this year and already have 2 bows and have tried 5 different rests, 4 being fall away. The Mirage is truly an awesome rest and I can completely recommend it to anyone looking for a new rest. It shoots quietly and very accurately, and the way the scooper works there is no way the arrow will fall off of it. This was a big selling point for me as I figure the more variables I can take out the better off I. Plus, GKF has been very helpful in answering my questions and supporting their product. By the way, why would anyone shoot anything other than a fall away rest? You can shoot any kind of fletching without rest contact, and they're just as accurate....makes sense to me.

Quick question for you mirage shooters. Prior to the draw, is the arrow resting on the arrow shelf of the bow, or the mirage rest? If it's the rest, is it resting on the scoop arm?

The arrow sits on the front edge of the shelf so you'll want to pad the front edge to prevent any arrow contact noise. The Mirage comes with an arrow catcher that sticks to the forward potion of the shelf directly inline with the 'V' of the scoop. I don't use it because the scoop does all the work for you!

Just an update I moved the mirage over to my Mathews FX to try it out on a short ATA bow. everything is working great and the bow & rest are performing perfect. I love this rest, it is a great one for hunting.
