I have had a few CX shaft split the same way. Thats why I stopped using them because they split so easy I was actually scared of them.

I sure wouldn't want one to go through my hand like the poor person in that picture! I bet that would freaking hurt bad!

I've been using Carbon Express now for 4 years and have yet to have any cracks/splits/or breaks in them. I'm using terminator selects 60/75. Ever since that stupid e-mail came out with the pics of the arrow through the guys hand C.E has got a bad rap. They make great arrows, period.

I agree with justhrowit. I've shot Carbon Express for years and have never broken an arrow pulling it from the target. I've shot CX200, CX300, CXL250, Terminator, Terminator Selects, no problems with any of them. Thats about all anyone sells around here so I haven't tried the other brands. I'm sure there all good arrows, too. If there were a bow made in Korea that shot 400 fps I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes so the fact that they are foreign is irrelevent.

i have a dozen of terminator hunter arrows and i like them so far.
Its a heavy shaft as well. The need for greater speed is the bigget reason IMO for such rare accidents. They can happen with any brand of arrow, but I will admit an inlaw had bad experiences with the CX200s.

I was going to just let my post die as it was intended to make everyone aware of issues I've had with CX200, BUT, I feel this is an important issue, and some are blowing it off and implying its not happening. You can stick your head in the sand and sing the praises of Carbon Express arrows if you want. I hope you don't have an arrow blow up and impale you arm, hand etc. but ,although I would hate to hear it, its no skin off my back. This is an issue with all carbon arrows with the exception of ACC's and other metal/carbon arrows. I was only trying to make everyone aware of this inherant problem with ALL carbon arrows, reguardless of the brand. If you hit them or glance them off something, there is ALWAYS the chance of a split or break. I have a 13 year old who was shooting CX100 till I saw what could happen. He won't shoot them again. Please shoot what you want to, as it's your choice and your right to do so, but PLEASE if you have kids who are shooting carbons, get them to check their arrows. I think you would feel really bad if the guy in the "STUPID E-MAIL" was your kid[]. Don

I had good luck in the past with carbon express. I'm glad to here thay replaced the shafts the first time. I don't know what more you can expect.
Do you stack arrow when you shoot? That could be the cause.

If you're truly unhappy I recommend Goldtip. I set up 4 of the dozen arrows I bought back in March. am still shooting those 4 and have better then 900-1000 shots on all 4 shafts and the still shoot as well as the day I set the up. They'll cost a bit more but I believe IMHO you'll never change after that!

adams, I was concidering the Gold Tips until I saw what a carbon arrows could do if it let go. Me and my son are going back to good old reliable XX75 alums. I can get all the speed I need and the only plus, for me, with carbons was, they don't bend. The down side other than already stated is they are harder to fletch, MUCH harder to strip vanes off, impossible to get inserts out to shorten shaft or chage insert if damaged, and for comparable strightness the are almost twice the price[].
