Hey HoochieMama, just wanted to share my bad example. I puchased the pack from Cabelas that holds the bow on you back. Great idea for Western Wisconsin as we hunt steep hills and ridges. Unfortunately, last year was my first expierence and had a gorgeous 10 point buck walk down the opposite ridge at 40yds but all I could do was watch as my bow was strapped to my back! OOPS! A sling would be the way to go!

The Primo's is the way to go ,From what I've heard it also considered a bow case when carrying into your deer stand as well. I haven't got one but a friend of mine does and he loves it .I think I'll be picking one up before I go on the moose hunt this month .

I'm a huge fan of the Balcom Bow Sling - you should buy a couple and send back or seel the ones you don't like. The balcom stays on the whole time I'm out, it's like a third arm when sitting in the trree stand or stalking and is extremely secure but can be unhooked under a second literally. defintely worth trying out, might not be for everyone. no hassle what so ever. some of the other ones will probably be more more comfortable, assuming they aren't sliding off your shoulder alot, i just think the balcom sling is more versatile. I have used it elk hunting and all day carrying it and it worked great and i keep it slung right up to the moment of truth and save alot of fore arm fatigue, it comes off as if it's not even there.

Everyone in our family uses the Hunters Specialties sling. The hooks stay on your bow all the time around the limbs and they bother nothing. It will come off in 2 seconds and is very adjustable. We all love it and it is cheaper than the Primos.

I use the sling from VISTA for the trukey season and it works great. I've used it while carring the BT VFT and the Hoyt TECs and it worked very well with them. Certainly worth a look at.
