Blackhawk Vapors???
#13
I purchased a dozen Blackhawk Vapor 3000's onsale at Gander Mountain last year and I loved them. They are super straight and durable. I was sighting in my Martin Jaguar last year in my buddies basement and missed the bag, the Blackhawk Vapor stuck in the block in his basement wall and showed no signs of damage. Now thats durable. As fars as arrows go I usually shot Carbon Impact, Blackhawks, and PSE's and the PSE's are the only arrows I don't like. The PSE's look great and are super light, but they have MAJOR durability problems. I've shot 3D targets with the PSE's and had them self destruct, so stay away from them (atlease I will in the future[:'(].)

That's funny, I've shot a couple of my PSE Carbon Force Extreme 400s into my wooden fence and pulled them out w/o any noticable damage. I've spin tested 'em and continue to shoot 'em. I shot them into the fence behind my deer target while teaching myself to shoot to my extreme right (I'm a right-handed shooter) from a sitting position in a tree stand. That's not any easy shot!
I did get some Vapor Pro 4000s and will test them out.

Maybe I just got a bad batch? What happens is when they hit something slightly hard the nock flies off, and then where the nock should be there is a nasty crack in the carbon. It seems like they are vibrating apart from the shock of impact and when the wave energy reaches the end of the shaft it manages to crack the carbon. Its pretty flukey. I keep one in my quiver just to fling at the Bionic Deer at the 3D shoots; I don't shoot them any more other than that.

I should have added that to my original post. They are great arrows, but with such a tight nock pinch, the first three arrows I shot the nocks flew off the arrows. I had one hit me in the jaw.OOOUUUCCCHHHH! I epoxied the nocks in and they were good to go.
