Default Summit Rapid Climb Stirrups....First Impressions

Got the Rapid Climb Stirrups from Summit today and installed them on my Viper XLS. They are made of plastic, are very sturdy and were a nobrainer to install. In the package you are supplied with two bolts and two wingnuts to secure the stirrups and a new bungee cord. The bungee cord goes across the platform and hooks to the side braces. You simply press the bungee cord back with your heels and slide your feet into the stirrups. I have not yet had a chance to climb with them yet due to thunderstorms. However, I did put my feet in them(with and without the bungee cord) and lifted the platform up and down from the tailgate of my truck, simulating the climbing motion. I think they will be an excellent addition to my stand....the platform felt very stable and did not slip. I plan on testing them out tomorrow climbing with the bungee cord installed and without. My initial opinion is the bungee cord will not be necessity but you will definately want to make sure the platform and the climber are tied together if you choose not to use the bungee.

Am I correct in assuming these retrofit on older stands? I might have to buy some for my python if they do.

Mine fit a 2003 Viper XLS.....I believe Summit's catalog says they will fit any of their stands with 1" square tubing.
