Handles, I know alot of guys that shoot Zebras and never have problems. It just seems that I here more complaints about Zebras than any other string out ther for whatever reason.

RE: Zebra-Twist String??????????????

I have owned 5 different Mathews bows, all with Zebra strings. I never had a problem with the string stretch and twisting until 2002. The string on my legacy stretched, but not to the point that it was unworkable. The string on my LX was absolutely horrible. It stretched for 3 months. It is in my gear box now and I think it is still stretching!
Mathews owns Zebra strings, therefore, we may never see any other strings offered on their bows. My opinion is that something changed in the manufacturing process in 02-03 that was not a good.
Put on a Winners Choice string and it has not moved at all!

I have had my feather max for about 5 yrs how do I check to see if the string has stretched. I really never gave it much thought untill now. I guess when it was new I could have marked it some way to keep an eye on it. it did seem to shoot better when it was new but it could be I shot it more then too.

Mathews went the new string material on the LX to keep the top shooters happy. The first thing that came off was the string. I have never known anyone to be dissapointed with a winners choice. I would not have any other on my bows.

I too must be lucky. After a couple thousand shots with my Legacy, my peep is still where it was put. No rubber tube to bother with. Not sure why my Zebra Twist is any better than anyone elses, but you can find unhappy Winner Choice users too. [&:] This bow is two years old and still tops out at 62 pounds. It's considered a 60, so I'd guess it hasn't stretched much?

Just my thoughts on the string.

I used to use the Zebra's. They stretched on me, but not that bad. I tried the Tiger Twist made out of 452 and really like it. No problems so far with ~4k shots

Love Mathews bows, don't like their strings. I replace them on new bows with Winners Choice.

I put a winners choice string and buss cables on my LX for 80.00. Have thousands of shots through it and it still looks like new. The factory strings on the LX have a spot without serving on them down by the cam, At least mine did. The winners choice compensated for that and served the area of my concern. The LX owners might know the spot I am talking about. Unless it was just a mistake on my bow. Any way, I am totally happy with the setup now.

The fact that bow strings stretch out never struck me, Winners Choice is a supperior strength so I've heard. What do you think is the best replaceable string for Mathews bows, say the Outback?
