A guy I know is selling a Browning Ambush. I of course have many bows and don't need anymore. However I told my friend to buy it instead of me.
The bow has single cam technology. There was something he told me about it being a Ambush 80? Axle to Axle was measured at 35 1/2" probably 36"?
What is the IBO speed of this bow and what are some of the speeds you guy's are getting with the bow? Is this a good bow for a first time shooter?
Is the price my friend is paying a good one at $150 for the bow, sites and rest, carbon arrows, hard case, quiver both hip and bow, release, broadheads, and fieltips. I do think there are other extras but not sure what they are.

Dang! For $150 bucks any relavively new bow with all that would be an excellent price! If he went out to buy a brand new bow he couldn't buy a descent bow and all those excessaries for under 300.

I shot an Ambush for the past 3 years until just recently. The 80 in Ambush 80 refers to the 80% letoff. I believe ATA is supposed to be 36" but I can't remember for sure. The last time I checked the Browning web site a few months ago they were planning on adding the owners manuals online. Might want to check & see if they've got them on there now.
The bow isn't a real smoker by any means, but it's plenty accurate to shoot. I was getting around 230 fps with a 450 grain arrow. I got a complete pass thru on a doe at 25 yards this season so it's definitely capable.
If it appears to be in decent shape & it fits him, I'd say he can't go wrong at that price. Heck, the extras alone are probably worth that price.

Well I picked up the bow for my friend. The bow appears to be brand new. In fact I don't think it's been shot. There is a pendelum sight on it that was put on wrong. The sight was mounted on the arrow rest side of the riser. Maybe the guy bought the bow mounted the sites couldn't get it to site right and gave up. There is know way the bow could have been sighted in with the sites on that side of the rise. The cable looks brand new with no markings on it and the string looks brand new no markings where you nock the arrow or beneath it where you attach the release.
A good find in deed!

Ditto on Jeepnut's comments. The IBO speed was around 290-295 fps if I remember correctly. Nice little bow....regular price was around $200 bare bow so I would say that you got a steal.
