RE: Browning Ambush
I shot an Ambush for the past 3 years until just recently. The 80 in Ambush 80 refers to the 80% letoff. I believe ATA is supposed to be 36" but I can't remember for sure. The last time I checked the Browning web site a few months ago they were planning on adding the owners manuals online. Might want to check & see if they've got them on there now.
The bow isn't a real smoker by any means, but it's plenty accurate to shoot. I was getting around 230 fps with a 450 grain arrow. I got a complete pass thru on a doe at 25 yards this season so it's definitely capable.
If it appears to be in decent shape & it fits him, I'd say he can't go wrong at that price. Heck, the extras alone are probably worth that price.
