What arrow shaft weight

Default What arrow shaft weight

Hi I shoot a 60# bow with a 100 gr tips and right now I am using a Easton Flatline 340 shaft 8.2 gpi with feather vains is this setup too light or should I be using a heavier shaft ? And as far as shooting distance what ever when ever cant say.

It is about the right weight for your set up. I perfer to go with heavier arrows which results in more kentic energy which means more bone breaking possibilities. It might fly a little slower but will result in more pass throughs even at 60 lbs.

Refer to the arrow charts on the back of the boxes. Gold tip for sure has the chart on theirs. I like Gold Tip because they extract from targets much easier than other carbons. The price is reasonable and they are very durable as well.

+1, i'm shooting flatline 400's off my monster 6 @ 325fps (chrony'd) My arrows weight 342gr which equals 81lbs of ke. If i go to a 400gr it goes to 84lbs and 308fps now when i go to a 450gr arrow i start going backwards in energy and speed. Having a chrony to find that out makes a bad difference over guessing making a bad choice.
