Scent free silicone/leather boot protector?
Anyone know of any scent-free silicone or leather boot protector? They are already waterproof, so I am only looking for something to keep them soft and protect if possible.
Thanks in advance.

Chad,
Most of the silicone sprays on the market will dry scent free. I have used several brands, with no problems. I prefer the liquid silicone myself, it seems to protect a little better. It comes in a jar, with an applicator. You should be able to get it in any shoe store, or shoe department. I have used another product called Sno-Seal, it is a beeswax type of paste. It conditions the leather real well.
Good luck,
Charlie

Thanks Trebark,
I have always bought Rocky' s in the past, for no more reason that affordability, but decided to bite the bullet and get a pretty nice pair of Irish Setters this go-round. I was PRAYING I wasn' t going to get a lecture by someone about how terrible leather boots are in holding scent....which I realize is a very small element in the very, very grand scheme of things, but it is funny how that very same guy will probably be carrying around a sardine sandwich for lunch!
Thanks again,
Chad

I used silicon based products for years to treat leather until I was told by an Amish man (maker of leather products) that silicon will eventually destroy leather, stitching, and will ruin the natural breathing of leather.
He recommended " SnoSeal" as the best off-the-shelf product. He said that he mostly used 100% beeswax on his leather.

I also use sno seal on my leather boots. It works really well but it will darken the color of the leather just a little. Not a big deal to me but I thought I would mention it.
