I usually lay my bow across my lap and the front bar of my Summit Viper XLS, but would like to be able to free both hands and stand once in a while. I' m aware of Summit' s bow holder, but just how practicle is it? I don' t think I would like the holders you have to screw into the tree. Do any of you have any experience with how I could achieve my goal? (would like to be able to free both hands and stand once in a while)

I have used a couple Summit stands and I use a foster bow holder. Its nothing more than a U shaped holder. I place the attachment to the seat/climber portion of the stand. Then the U shaped holder goes into the attachment and holds the bow away from the stand. That way when sitting your bow is right there instead of reaching down to a holder on the base of the stand. I hope you understand what I mean.
