I really like my 2003 model of the viper and the X4 is the same with some improvements so i would imagine that it would be very good also.

nubo,I purchased my X4 directly though Summit. As allways with Summit,an excellant stand. After trying it out a few times,I decided that the Rapid-Climbers and my size 14 boots were'nt getting along. So,with a little bit of fabrication,I re-installed the same straps(purchased from Summit)that were on my old Viper. Now,I've got the best of both worlds...Bob Summit--1-800-241-5559

Summit is a top notch treestand for sure. I bought a 03 Summit Viper last season but ended up selling it for another stand. I personally just could not get used to hunting out of it. I like to shoot sitting down and this stand makes it difficult to do so.

Also, it seems like all companies are hovering around the 20lb mark with their stands. With the design of the Summits, its feels like quite a bit of weight on your back because most of the weight is out away from your back.

Once sitting in the stand, they are as comfortable as anything out there. Most comfortable I've sat in. Built extremely solid as well.
