Ranging range finders
I' ve got this old Ranging rangefinder. It' s one of the old ones where you have to turn a little wheel on it and line up a double image through the viewfinder to find the range. Does anyone still use one of these?
I think they still sell them, but I' ve never seen anyone use one.

I just received one from another user on a different forum. My sister in law has my laser, and I don' t think I' ll ever see it again. I received the Ranging 60 model and it works great!!!! I see a couple of advantages already (being able to range through brush, no batteries, etc.) but not quite as quick as a laser.
If it' s still in good working order, and you no longer need it, why not try and find a junior member or someone else to take it off your hands?

I used the Ranging' s for years and loved them I have taken many deer because of them. I no longer use one as I have a laser one now. I sold my old ranging at the flea market for nearly as much as I paid for it.

I had one as well. Though others have complained about some of their shortcomings I found them to be more than adequate for their intended purpose. I had a TLR75 up until a few weeks ago when I donated it to a fellow member on a different forum.

The one I have is a TLR75. I just got it calibrated today. It works pretty good. I imagin the new ones may be better. Mine was still in the box, I bought it years ago and put it " where I wouldn' t forget where it is" and found it again last week.

I do not have any negative comments about the one I owned. Heck, I even dropped it out of a treestand once. The mirrors and lenses inside became unattached to the housing so I had to take it apart and " reconnect" them. It worked perfectly fine afterwards and it gave me a little more confidence when I was unsure about some of the various shots that I had from my treestands.
For $40 or whatever they are charging for them nowadays I think they are worth it.
