I'm a fan of redundancy, and I want the best stuff I can get. I've just about decided on most of my accessories, but who makes the best custom strings? And why are they the best. All opinions (so long as it's reasonably well explained) are welcome. I've got America's Best now, but have heard great things about Winner's Choice and Vapor Trail, but I'd be very interested in what you practical experts have to say.

Idk if you are on AT or not but look up Crackers and you will find a good set of strings. Just look for the term "Crackerized" adn you will find your answer. He makes strings and "super tunes" bows and people think very highly of his work. www.cartersarchery.com

That is just one example i put b/c you didnt mention them. I personally know that Vapor Trail makes a very good quality string as well. There are many others that I know of that are good, but you wanted an answer why, and my answer is b/c ive used both of these, and know that they are excellent strings far exceeding the quality of original factory sets.

BuckNasty are all I will shoot.Send Gibblet on here a PM or on AT he goes by BuckNasty. John is a great guy and his strings are rock solid. Every bow I have purchased new or used I don't shoot until I set up with his strings. No creep at all and the quality is great.

I make my own strings from bark that I collect from birch trees and then I chew the barkfor hoursto get the raw fibers out(tastes awful though). Then I spin my own super strong high performance bowstrings that I put on all ofmy compound bows. I've finding lately that they only last a few shots before they break though, manit stings a guys face when they break.Maybe Ineed torethink this whole birch string thing and try one of those new fangled bucknasty's?

I like the Vapor Trails because they have been great on my 82nd, which is a super aggressive bow that has tested them to the max. I shoot a ton and in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. The Vapor Trails are the best stings I have ever shot.

Bucknasty

I have never shot Bucknasty though. I think that there are a lot of good strings out there and you'd probably do very well with any of them. I just happen to like vapor trail, just like wihunter402 likes Bucknasty and drockw likes crackers. They will all work just fine.
