does anyone use this item? its a summit 30 foot rope you hang above your lock on.its jus like the regular summit saftey harness that attaches to the tree... anyway as your climbing up you jus slide the knot up.....curious of ppls opinion of it?

I purchased 9 of the ropes last fall. Combined with the linemans belt it is a great setup....was comforting being connected before leaving tera firma.

U can make the same thing with a few purchases from you near by hardware store for a fraction of the cost.
The knot is easy to tie and u can get what ever length of rope U need 4 Your tree

I already do this with all of my hangon and ladder stands. You purchase climbing rope and make a prusic knot on the rope and just hook your caribiner to the prusic knot and slide it up the rope. Its great because you are tied off all the way up and down the tree.

I started this last season. I went to Academy and bought the 25 ft docking rope for boats. Has a very good break strength and will last longer in the weather in my opinion. Already has a braided loop in one end and can be thrown around tree pull free end thru loop and drop to the ground. Cost about 12.00 each.
